Below are common neurologic problems, which are

managed by a neurologist.

2. Neurology

Question:

What is neurology?

The neurology deals with dysfunction of Nervous System, which comprises of Motor System, Sensory Symptom, Autonomic System, and Psychosomatic System.

Question:

What does psychosomatic system do?

Psychosomatic dysfunction is a psychological condition that leads to physical symptoms without medical explanation. Thus, all tests are normal in this situation.

What does Neurologist do?

Neurologist is a physicians, who diagnoses and treats problem of Brain, Spinal Cord, Peripheral Nerve, Neuromuscular junction and Muscle.

 

Question:

I am uncertain if I need a neurologist to consult.

It is a common occurrence. If you and your physician are indecisive it is likely that you have a neurological problem.

 

Question:

What is the difference between a neurologist and a neurosurgeon?

A neurosurgeon performs the surgery. Usually a neurologist/physician refers the patient to a neurosurgeon. If surgery is recommended. 

3. Appointment
Every initial appointment is for 30 minutes duration.

Can I make the same Day Appointment?
Yes, you can. Appointment made <48 hours is an urgent appointment. This does not include a medical emergency. If this is an Emergency, you should stop here and seek an Emergency Service promptly. You can make an urgent appointment yourself online using this Website or Mobile App. If our Calander allows you to do so on your desired date and time. If does not, you can contact us.  

 

4. Payment Online
Question:
What is Gratis Service?
This service is for those who cannot afford our fee; however, they need or wish to see Dr. Gupta. The Gratis Service section from home page will allow you to complete the appointment process without a fee payment.

When am I expected to pay the fee?
At the time of making an appointment online.


Question:
How do I pay the fee amount? 
The amount is due in full, which is shown under each type "Our Service" online.

Question:
Which payment platforms are used to accept the payment?
Currently, Phone Pay, UPI, and Razorpay.  Others to be added.

Question:
Why I am unable to upload my reports?
You will be able to upload the reports after the payment.

Question:
How will I get fee amount return online, if I cancel my appointment?
Repayment online is currently unavailable.
To avoid such a situation, we strongly recommend please book appointment
only when you are sure that you are in a need for our service. 

Question:
Do you accept cash in-person?
We encourage online transaction. 

Question:
How could I make an appointment with cash payment?
You need to a request online or call us to make an appointment In-person.
 

5. The Day of my Appointment
For both, Virtual and In-person Neurology Consult, you must get ready 15 minutes before your appointment time. This is necessary to avoid your own inconvenience, inconvenience to others, and also to respect your hard-earned money. This is also important that we allow comfortable environment to understand the neurological plan. 

Question:
If I am late for my appointment, still I can be seen?
No. We do accommodate our patients, possible. However, it is not possible every attempt. You may not be seen at the day of the booked appointment day.

I am late for my appointment. What should I do?

You may not be seen on the day of your appointment. You should contact us to reschedule your appointment for another day. 

Question:
Who should I bring with me for In-person consult?
If you need some or it is must for you, may bring only one person along with you.

Question:
What happens if the patient is a child?
In this case parents are allowed accompany a minor child. This is necessary for your privacy and to avoid crowding.    

Question:
What should I bring with me for the appointment?
You should 
A. Alway bring all medication you take. This is a must.
B. A
ll those reports what you like to share with the neurologist, or you were unable to upload online.
C. Any photograph or video recording of the event in question.


6.  Camera Surveillance   
Question:
Do you have camera in the consult room?
No. This is to protect your privacy and our assurance to you that we will not provide your information to any other person, other than other medical health workers to facilitate your health care.                            

7. Phone Use During Consultation?
Question:
Am I allow to use my phone during consultation?

No, we suggest you should keep your phone ringer off and may put on vibrator. If answering the phone is must, you may answer after coming out from the consultation room. Expect the same from our neurologist.

8. During Consultation:
This is the most important part, what we do.

Question:
What should I expect from Neurologist?

First, Neurologist will listen to you to understand your problem. Second, he may ask you a few questions to clarify to understand them. Third, he will do the physical and neurological examination. At times, this process is limited to an active observation.

Forth, after reviewing your pervious reports, he will share the Diagnosis and Treatment Plan. We request you to listen to the entire plan, before asking questions. We do encourage you to ask questions. You will have time to do so.

At the end you will be given
1. A printed note of the of the assessment and plan, what to do next.
2. A follow up appointment date if recommen
ded.

9.  Neurology Follow Up
Question: How should I make a follow up appointment? You should contact us to make such
a follow up appointment.


Question:
Can I make a follow up appointment on the website myself.
No, currently all follow up appointments are made by our staff.

Question:
How can I connect with staff?
You can use website "Contact" section from the website home page to send at least two dates and time of your choice.
 

10. Laboratory Tests
Question:

Why is laboratory test needed? 

These laboratory tests are needed mainly for three reasons:

  1. To understand the status of the patients’ internal health.

  2. To “confirm” the physician’s initial clinical diagnosis.

  3. To monitor the course of the disease or treatment response over time.


Question:
Do you perform any laboratory test at your site?
No.

Question:
If neurologist orders the test, where I should go to get done?
You should go to the laboratory of your choice. 


Question:
Where should I get my blood tests or radiological test done?
You should go to your place of choice. The place which is reputable, or you trust. 

Question
Is this going to cost me extra?
No, we request to all laboratory tests provider to give you a full rebate to our every patient.

Question:
Once test reports are ready how I should share with the neurologist?
The reports could be sent as follows:
A. By Laboratory or by you: a copy of the report can be email to sjneurologyconsult@gmail.com
B. By you : via your account upload on the website, https://sjneurologyconsult.com, or
